Global Warming in Boston

How Can We Help Stop Global Warming?

  • Plant trees- Carbon dioxide is one of the most important greenhouse gases, and since plants take in CO2, planting more trees can help slow down the process of global warming.

  • Reduce Waste- When waste is brought to landfills it produces methane and other greenhouse gases that can cause global warming. Recycling waste whever possible can help minimize the amount of harmful greenhouse gases produced.

  • Save Water- When water is purified and distrubuted, it consumes a lot of energy which contributes to the emission of greenhouse gases. Being considerate when using water and making sure that it is not being wasted can help reduce global warming.

  • Change your regular light bulb- If you have a regular incandecent light bulb, replace it with a compact fluorescent bulb. They use 70% less energy and have a much longer lifetime.

  • Solar Energy- Using solar panels reduces the amount of fossil fuel use, such as coal and natural gases. Instead it uses energy from the sun.
